Do Your Own Wedding Hair & Make Up!

Practice, practice, practice!! If you just do a little bit of research, you can really perfect your wedding day look. I hope this site can help!

do your own wedding make upIf you're going to do your own make up on your wedding day, you need to know exactly what you're doing, and to have done it plenty of times so you don't panic or make a mistake on the day.

The more familiar you are with the routine of doing your wedding make up, the easier it will be. If you're confident it will be easy to do.

The best way to tackle wedding make up and hair is to watch the experts (hurray for the interweb) and then have a go yourself... again and again.

You should practice a few times, so you know exactly what you're doing on your wedding day. Before you do, trying going along to Debenhams or Boots and having your make up done at one of the counters. You could pick up some freebies while you're there!

natural wedding make upAsk for a natural look and watch carefully to see how it's applied. While it's fresh in your mind, have a go yourself and see how you can get on. (If you're not quite sure about some things, go and get it done again in a different shop to swot up on the bits you're not sure of!)

If you spend a bit of time on YouTube or googling for make up tutorials you'll see there are loads of people making these videos. There are also companies trying to cash in, so you'll see adverts and bad videos while you're looking! (Fine if you're up for a laugh; annoying if you're panicking about your wedding make up.)

If you can, enlist a bridesmaid to help with your hair on your wedding day. Watch some online videos together, see what you're both comfortable with (how it looks and how to do it) and then have a go while the video is on. (The pause button might come in handy... most of the videos I've seen on YouTube are about 11 minutes long!)
